Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home with a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family money isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants here from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of nsfas application the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
